To get this card, you need to join the Pentagon Federal Credit Union, but doing so is an easy task. 

  • Credit Score: To qualify for the PenFed Platinum, you’ll need an excellent score.
  • APR: New cardholders can enjoy a 0% intro APR for 12 months (after that period, a non-variable 17.99% applies). The APR on purchases varies according to creditworthiness between 16.49% and 17.99%. 
  • Annual Fee: The PenFed Platinum has no annual fee.
  • Fees: 3% balance transfer fee during the promotional period – per transaction. Up to $28 in late payment fees, up to $25 on return payment fees. 
  • Welcome bonus: 15,000 Bonus Points after spending at least $1,500 on your PenFed Platinum within the first 90 days of membership.
  • Rewards: With the PenFed Platinum, you’ll earn 5 points on gas and EV stations, 3 points on TV, radio, streaming services and cable. 3 points at restaurants and supermarkets, and 1 point on all other purchases. 

This is one of the few Platinum cards that doesn’t have an annual fee. Cardholders will also get a great rewards rate on daily purchases.

As an added bonus, the PenFed Platinum Rewards offers an introductory APR on balance transfers and a hefty sign up bonus.
